The article presents a theoretical-methodological proposal for the identification of welfare regimes at the subnational level in Argentina. To this end, five dimensions of well-being have been established: health, education, housing, work and income, and care, and for each one indicators were defined that make it possible to account for the degree to which the market, the State, and Families participate in well-being. The proposal is based on a bibliographic review of the conceptual and empirical background on welfare regimes at the international and Latin American levels and on a set of secondary statistical sources available for the construction of indicators on subnational welfare regimes. This is a research advance of the project “Wellbeing in Argentina. Subnational regimes in a federal key”, located at the National University of Tres de Febrero.
