Old age as a social construction and aging as an individual experience are part of one of the most important phenomena of the last two centuries. The demographic statistics show an accelerated growth in the older adult population worldwide, represented in Argentina by 10.2%, indicating that population aging will continue. Speaking of older adults (OA) is talking about food, socio-cultural practice that at this stage of life is a moment of balance in terms of social relationships, care, well-being / physical and / or emotional discomfort. Analyze feeding as a care practice, identifying expressions and modalities of aging of older adults, in Córdoba 2017-2018. Qualitative study with qualitative-quantitative methodological triangulation. Non-probabilistic sample by quotas, according to level of instruction - according to the Permanent Household Survey 2013; considering OA of Córdoba, members of participatory / recreational spaces. A semi-structured questionnaire was implemented, prepared following the parameters of National and International Surveys; along with participant observations, field bitacoras and interviews. The categories of analysis were: feeding, care, participation, law. The studied population was 252 OA, with 72 years average, 81% (n= 204) women and 19% (n = 48) men. The feeding as care practice was reflected with 86% affirmative answers (it feels care): "feed ourselves well, go to the doctor, go to the workshops, go for a walk, share with friends; it is to feel young, it is our right, it is to take care of oneself ". The manifestations of feeding changes over time, expressed mostly as "search for better quality of life" recognizes self-care skills; thus the purchase and preparation of food constitutes a practice of self-care and towards others. Thinking about feeding as a practice of care leads to recognizing individual and social mechanisms that facilitate the perpetuation of people's lives in connection with others. In this sense, care alludes to a dialogical relationship of the OA with itself, with its body and with the environment in which it carries out its activities, the way of daily appropriation of self-care practices, including feeding, adopting a meaning exceptional transmitting feelings and developing life projects.
