Baccharis ulicina is a native perennial herb that inhabits in grasslands and natural fields of the sub-humid and semi-arid zones of Argentina and Bolivia. It has become an important problem for livestock breeders since the species is not consumed by libestock. Its abundance within the sourthern areas of the “Espinal” Phytogeographic District increased notably after the drought that occurred between the years 2005 and 2009. Baccharis ulicina has an extensive reproductive period of more than three months, during which a plant can produce about 50,000 seeds that are disperse by the wind, being able to reach great distances .As a perennial species, both chemical and mechanical control is really complicate since the plant has the ability to regrow several times. However, in certain situations, tilling can become an effective control method.
