This article presents the main results of a study regarding information habits and the use of technologies during the first stage of the Social, Preventive and Obligatory Isolation (ASPO, due to its initials in Spanish) implemented to prevent the advance of Covid-19 in Argentina. With the objective of identifying the changes in the methods of gathering information in a context where screens became the link with the outside world, a survey was carried out among the adult population between 18 and 75 years of age with an Internet connection and who live in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA, due to its initials in Spanish), the Greater Buenos Aires Area (GBA, due to its initials in Spanish) and the Province of Buenos Aires (PBA). We based our study on the assumption that the public is not passive and that the concern about fake news and mistrust becomes a constituent part of the way that news habits develop. This article presents the results of this exploratory study in three axes: the information modes during the ASPO, digital technologies and information habits, and the level of trust and feelings created by the information that is shared by the media and on social networks.
