The aim of this study is to explore the perceived engagement and personal agency among a group of students who either conducted or did not conduct teaching and community practice in emergency contexts, either virtually or in person. The research employed a quantitative exploratory approach, involving 80 students from the Teaching and Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education programs in Argentina, who completed two standardized questionnaires and one contextual questionnaire. Results highlight the importance of considering complex and multidimensional spaces, influenced by social and curricular factors, to promote affective, behavioral, and cognitive involvement, as well as personal agency among future educators.
