Introduction: Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common motor disability in the pediatric population. There are population-based CP registries in other developed countries in Europe and Australia that allow clinical and epidemiological surveillance of CP. In Argentina there is no epidemiological surveillance system. This study seeks to establish an Argentinian Register of CP (RAR-PC) as part of the Global Registry of CP of LMIC (GLM CPR) to collect consistent data. Aim: to develop the RAR-PC, which will be a knowledge base on the epidemiology of CP in Argentina to establish a culturally appropriate and cost-effective early prevention, diagnosis and intervention strategies. Methods: The study population will be people with CP from the age of 0 who live in Argentina. It will be part of the GLM CPR using the same case definition, diagnostic algorithm, and surveillance mechanism. Data will be collected using a structured form with core variables based on minimal data used by other international registries. For data analysis, the frequencies will be described in percentages with their 95% CI. The relationship between variables will be analyzed using Fisher’s test, t test or Mann-Whitney. OR will be calculated with their 95% CI (p <0.05). Conclusions: This will be the first Argentinian Register established as an international multicenter study for CP in low and middle income countries. It will produce consistent data pooled from multiple centers around the world, increasing statistical power for research.
