The study of solar water heating has advanced with a high degree of development in the last decades. In this sense, it is proposed to compare the advantages and disadvantages of using double layer of plastic in solar water heaters with recycled elements with respect to the use of a single layer of PET bottles. The products that are compared are determined by a solar water heating system made with recycled and reused PET bottles in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. This project deals with an energy pro-blem in housing as the energy needed to produce domestic hot water (DHW) for home use in low-income populations living in areas far from urban centers and, therefore, net. It is also an alternative to an environmental problem such as the incorrect disposal of plastic solid waste, wasting their socio-economic potential. We propose an alternative to reduce energy consumption in the use of heaters: thermos tanks or instantaneous water heaters that use gas, electricity or firewood for its operation. In the following article we present and compare the results of a solar sanitary water system made with Polypropylene (PP) pipes and a transparent cover design with a recycled PET bottle and two bottles of recycled PET, estimating which is the best for a certain type of climate.Artículos
