The north of La Pampa (Argentina) has been exploited by intense agricultural activity for more than a century. These activities generated a strong anthropic modification of the landscape through the intervention of several agricultural technologies. Its effect on the archaeological record is undeniable, although it has not been deeply discussed. In this work, we review the studies related to the effect of plowing and farming activity. We also propose an experimental design to evaluate the effect of these activities in the northern region of the province of La Pampa, specifically at the Mariano Miró site (Dpt. Chapaleufú, Province of La Pampa). Miró was a town of approximately 500 inhabitants founded in 1901 next to the homonymous station of the Ferrocarril Oeste. The town was abandoned in 1911. The objective of the proposed experiment is aimed at generating frames of reference for the study region that allows us to evaluate the site formation processes (natural conditions and anthropic factors) that have occurred in similar contexts at the regional level.
