The national digital transformation strategies implemented in recent years within state organizations responsible for prison management in Latin America share a common trend: the incorporation of decision-support systems at various levels. However, they differ significantly in terms of the origins of these state initiatives, the motivations behind their design, and the processes involved in their implementation. This article aims to describe two of such experiences (Argentina and Chile), considering the different contexts in which they developed, in order to assess both the current scope and future challenges of organizational learning and innovation processes within the framework of prison policies in the region.
