The objective of this work is to elucidate the critics that Baruch Spinoza makes of the instrumentation of State secrets or arcana imperii, especially in the Political Treatise. From the composition of democracy as omnino absolutum imperium, and its actuality in the debate on the recompositing of forces in the framework of a radical democracy, Spinoza's political philosophy allows us to determine some central aspects in the discussion on the participation of the multitude in politics and, in this case, on access to information. Likewise, an attempt will be made to distinguish Spinoza's interpretation from a tradition that inscribes the secrets of power in terms of reason of State and, therefore, investigates the philosophical sources in which Spinoza inscribes himself to elaborate the problem of the secret of power.
