This article is inserted in the studies that analyzed the organizational and identity dimensions of the Radical Civic Union. It aims to reconstruct the course of radicalism in the province of Tucumán between 1942 and 1948, emphasizing the changes and continuities of their elites, in order to deepen a perspective outlined in some articles about the subject at national level. This article supports the hypothesis that during the period studied there was a process of generational change and the emergence of new leaderships in Tucuman’s radicalism, which were developed as a result of the confluence of external and internal factors to the party. At the same time, the group of radical sugar cane industrialists, who actively participated during the 1930’s, progressively abandoned the public arena as they lost power during the early years of peronism.
