Pragmatism, Western and Evil: Remarks on Richard Bernstein and Forgiveness

Abstract

In this paper I will analyze the possible tensions that the inclusion of the topic of forgiveness can give rise to in the approach of Richard Bernstein to the problem of evil. Ultimately, the whole work will aim to answer the question about the possibility, inside or outside Bernstein's work, of conciliating these two major American products: pragmatism and Western.
