The intention of this work is to open up a question that, in general, tends to be maintained as a presupposition on anthropology of the body´s researchs (and, more broadly, in the social studies of the body). We refer to how that inquiries assume that a series of practices -such as dance, sports, etc.- are properly bodily. In this sense, a link is established between them and a notion of body that is hardly problematized, by which it is taken for granted that studying these practices is, in itself, studying the body. Turn that link into an open interrogation, researching the budgets on which the study of the corporal is grounded, is then the central objective pursued here. In the development of this argumentation, it is fundamental to ask ourselves whether the body itself is the product of a culture, a history, a policy in their particularity, or only its “uses” are thus produced, while the body remains as a tough core of nature at the heart of this type of anthropological approach.
