In the second half of the nineteenth century the problem of order acquired a specific sense. It was enrolled in the conceptions of the social order which dominant classes sought to impose. In the city of Santa Fe, police was in charge of the control of daily behavior in public spaces. Considering a critical perspective on social power relations, there are new questions that can be formulated to the historical police documents. The information which these documents provide about subjects that were persecuted and imprisoned for crimes against public order helps to reconstruct the formation of these sectors as an object of control. This article analyses police daily reports taking into account the information they do or do not provide about the arrested individuals and the assessments police officers make about them.
