This work deals with the study of linkages between hunter - gatherers societies who inhabited the Ventania´s hills and its adjacent plain during the late Holocene with their fauna on account on their representation in the archaeological record. In addition to the archaeological evidence, complementary historical and ethnohistorical sources on subsistence, ceremonies and rituals from the hunter-gatherers of the pampas in the period of hispanic-indigenous contact is incorporated. The analysis allows one to consider the economic utility of the animals represented and their symbolic role in the worldview of these people.
