This paper aims to examine how Nazi concentration camps were portrayed in a series of films produced during the Nazi period. While there has been extensive discussion on how cinema has represented the Holocaust — creating what some authors have called the “genocidal imaginary” — studies focusing on film production from that period, specifically during World War II, have usually received less attention. This study, therefore, seeks to explore the representation of concentration camps in a specific corpus of films from that era. Through these works, we investigate the imaginaries they construct about the camps, as well as the narratives and recurring motifs they present.
