Resumen
The architecture ofagricultural spaces is addressed in this paper as an inspiration for thinking about the daily life ofpeasant practices, and about their role in shaping the historical process of formation of agrarian landscapes. Our specific focus is on Catamarca's high valleys (El Bolsón) and puna regions (Tebequiche Chico and Antofalla), during the 1st millennium A.D. Based on this perspective, by architecture we refer not only to description of walls and space, but also the aspects relative to flow, use, and customs. This is an essay where architecture is seen notjust as details ofthe constructed space, but as thefoundations of thevery experience of living in everyday life. Therefore, our goal is not simply "to compare" both cases in the strict sense, but rather to diversify the picture we provide of these clearly heterogeneous past landscapes according to people, places and timelines, while recognizing that they also must have had a comprehensive foundation in terms ofthe everyday experience of agricultural landscapes.
