The sandy hills landscape of Corrientes Province (Argentina) is characterized by the presence of a large number of shallow lakes; that were qualitatively described as small and circular. In this paper we used a morphometric measure that allows quantitatively describing the form of the basins, the shoreline development (DL), to determine and compare the form of the shallow lakes, and quantitatively support the processes involved in the landscape modification. They were measured 6789 shallow lakes corresponding to the total water bodies of seven Departments of Corrientes Province. Five forms have been detected; of them the circular form was more frequent than the complex ones. In general, the stages of geomorphology evolution of shallow lakes do not always have a direct relationship with the DL values.
