Abstract

This article is the result of our teaching work in the Diploma of Gender, Politics and Participation of the National University of General Sarmiento (UNGS) of the Municipality of Malvinas Argentinas in Buenos Aires, which is one of the Argentine urban peripheries with the largest amount of migrant population and where migrant women represent half of it. The contribution includes, on one hand, a case of analysis of our practice focused on making migrant women visible in the media. On the other hand, a general approach to gender and migration is proposed whithout pretending to elaborate an exhaustive state of the art, but to focus on and highlight some of the contributions that have been made in recent years within the field of migration studies.
