The present paper proposes a preliminary approach to the work of Oswald Spengler in order to recover his various positions on the question of modern technique and technification, under the premise that this allows us to elucidate some correlates for the deployment of the political at the time, according to a certain reading of history, especially Western Modernity. Thus, our hypothesis connects technique, history and Western modernity in terms of the question of the deployment of the political, threatened at that time. We will focus mainly on the writings that appeared since the end of the First World War, since we consider that this fact serves as a kick-off for the author’s reflections on technification, which we describe here analytically in four sections or positions in this regard.
