The goal of the article is to communicate an experience of intense multifunctional work in training, care and research activity of a group of psychologists that break through new grounds in the health field and professional education. An integral approach for a very specific setting as the “Perinatal Psychological Setting” is proposed to be transmitted at university, get into both public and private health institutions and actively construe a theoretical field. This field counts with very scarce specific bibliographic material, but is full of unexplored edges. With these aims, we started off a journey in 1993 in classrooms and hospitals, that showed in an increasing number of students an growing spaces, such that we count today with 4 health institutions and 10 practicum undergraduate courses that are part of the Department of Perinatal Psychology at the Psychology Faculty, University of Buenos Aires (U.B.A.) The characteristics of the training modality of a specific field of applied psychology: Perinatal Psychology, developed along 15 years of teaching experience will be described. The importance of a tailored modality and active teaching-learning practice for training of new health professionals will be highlighted.
