This paper analyzes the reactions to cultural transformations that promote technological developments proposed by two theorists of the Frankfurt School: Walter Benjamin and Theodor Adorno. The stances adopted by these philosophers represent two paradigmatic positions historically taken by intellectuals until the present day, considering that technological innovations impact on the cultural configuration. This dividing line between the two stances within the intellectual field ends up distorting the ways of conceiving and exercising the intellectual practice which are the base for the positions adopted and the underlain conceptions of culture.
