Primer registro de Schlotheimia rugifolia en el Cono Sur oriental

Abstract

Se registra por primera vez para la República Oriental del Uruguay a Schlotheimiarugifolia (Hook.) Schwägr. La especie se reconoce por las plantas de color pardo rojizo oscuro, con hojas rugosas dispuestas he-licoidalmente alrededor del tallo, oblongas a oblongo-liguladas, con ápice corto-apiculado y la costa fuerte, excurrente en un mucrón. Los esporófitos presentan cápsula exerta y caliptra campanulada, lobada en la base. Se aportan datos sobre su distribución, hábitat y caracteres diagnósticos, se incluye un mapa de distribución y una clave para diferenciar las especies del género presentes en el país.Schlotheimia rugifolia (Hook.) Schwägr. is reported for the first time in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. The species is characterized by dark reddish-brown plants with rugose leaves spirally arranged around the stem. Leaves are oblong to oblong-ligulate, with a short-apiculate apex and a strong costa excurrent into the mucro. The sporophytes have an exserted capsule and a campanulate calyptra, lobed at the base Data on its distribution, habitat, and diagnostic features are provided, including a distribution map and a taxonomic key to distinguish the species of the genus occurring in the country.
