In this paper, we will study The Triptych of Temptation of St. Anthony by Hieronymus Bosch immersed in the courtesan life of Philip II of Spain. We will try to clarify its social function within this humanistic context. In order to achieve this, we will follow the interpretation that José Sigüenza makes of it, which reveals the vicissitudes of a courtesan world close to the image of the Christian knight by Erasmus Roterodamus.
