This article aims to investigate the professional experiences of Merchant Navy nurses working in private companies in the fishing industry of the Argentine Sea. In this first approach to the subject in Argentina, we will focus on the study of these professionals' experiences, with the aim of going deeper in the future into the health-illness-care process that takes place among shipboard workers in general. From a qualitative approach, consisting of open interviews with nursing professionals who work or have worked as embarked and the analysis of legal documents that organise the activity, we will investigate the profile and trajectories of naval nurses, the meanings about the labour market that they construct and how power relations condition professional action on board, among the most relevant dimensions.
