This article presents an analysis of curricula for Physics Teacher training for secondary level of three universities at Argentina. It is focused on identifying the nature of particular historical and institutional construction of each one curricular proposal reviewed. This is done mainly with the contributions from the sociology of school knowledge made by Basil Bernstein and Ivor Goodson. The concept of code alows us to understand the provisions of knowledge in each curricular plan wich give rise to certain cuts, sequences and relationships between knowledge. We hold that such knowledge structures are related to the history and institutional arrangements of each career of Physics teaching. These results enable to examine dominant research perspectives and approaches in Science Teacher Education that dispense the inquiry into the historical and institutional registration of curricula and training knowledge.
