In this article, we reflect about to consider to the photography as a methodological technique in the research work and to think the place of the image in social relations. This issue arises from the project "That which persists. Traces of the yerba mate farmers' agriculture". The photographic images were taken in October 2015, that restores the Oberá- Misiones farmers productive practices, in an economic and political context that promotes the disintegration of this family agriculture sector historically dedicated to the cultivation of yerba mate.
