This work is put forward as an approach to the narratives of the Argentine transition to democracy departing from the analysis of the films La República Perdida (Miguel Pérez, 1983) and Evita, quien quiera oír que oiga (Eduardo Mignogna, 1984). In general terms, these two documentary films evidence the will of revealing stretches or versions of history which do not match the “official truth” that had been sustained up to that moment. We understand that the analysis of the mentioned films opens a privileged entrance to address certain aspects of the reconfiguration of the Argentine public space in a moment of reorganization, after the contraction that the cultural field had suffered during dictatorship (1976-1983).
