Between the coups of 1966 and 1976, in tune with what was happening in the world, Argentina experienced a rise of the masses with a marked student role. At its height, there were numerous urban uprisings synthesized by local literature with the suffix “azo” that accompanies the localities in which such actions took place. This article intends to study, from a comparative perspective, the alliances that the university movement forged in this period. This exhibition will delve into five cases – the University of Buenos Aires, the National University of La Plata, the National University of Rosario, the National University of Córdoba and the National University of Tucumán – which concentrated approximately two thirds of the national university, located in the main cities of the country, the last three shaken by “azos”. Starting from the work with an important database, the text will focus on accounting for the similarities and differences in the alliances that the Argentine student body knotted in their struggles, as well as on establishing the stages in which they were deployed.
