El rol de las economías emergentes en el siglo XXI: el caso de India en América Latina y su vinculación con Argentina

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se busca llevar a cabo un diagnóstico de las vinculaciones de India y Argentina en el marco de la estrategia de aproximación del país asiático hacia la región latinoamericana. La atención se centra en los aspectos político-diplomáticos y comerciales, y en los desafíos y potencialidades que la emergencia de este nuevo actor puede presentar a Argentina. Se analizará el accionar de India en América latina; luego las características de las relaciones bilaterales, con especial énfasis en la política exterior argentina hacia India; y una introducción de las principales características de las vinculaciones comerciales, analizando sus implicancias para la Argentina. Concluimos que, dos de los principales desafíos para Argentina son diversificar su oferta exportadora, y concretar esquemas de cooperación tecnológica y energética con India.

In this paper we seek to carry out a diagnosis of the links between India and Argentina in the context of the strategy of approach of the Asian country towards the Latin American region. The focus will be set on the political-diplomatic and trade aspects and in the challenges and potentialities that the emergence of this new actor can present to Argentina. First, it will be analyzed India’s actions in Latin America; then the characteristics of the bilateral relations, with special emphasis on Argentina´s foreign policy towards India; and an introduction to the main characteristics of trade relations, analyzing its implications to Argentina. We arrive to the conclusion that, two of Argentina´s main challenges are to diversify its export offer and to set technological and energetic cooperation schemes.
