Resumen

Data corresponds to a study evaluating the effect of cues from an estuary over the larval development of the semiterrestrial crab Neohelice granulata. Development in a control condition, represented by marine (35psu) water was compared to development with a vegetation cue (dissolved molecules from Sporobolus densiflorus leaves), a low salinity cue (25 psu water) and the combined (vegetation+ low salinity) cues. The file contains all the data on the developmental times of the larval stages from zoea I to the first juvenile, as well as the weight and length of the resulting juveniles under the four experimental conditions. The larvae come from three different females, referred to as females 1, 2, and 3, and the abbreviations for the conditions and stages are described within the file. Culture started on November 26 and finished on December 26, 2026. Females were collected on November 23, 2026, at Mar Chiquita coastal lagoon (37°44'45"S, 57°26'00"W, Buenos Aires, Argentina). Larvae were fed daily with Artemia spp. nauplii and water was changed also daily after recording events of molting or dead.

Información de Series

Data are organized in columns, by culture condition, then by brood (female), then by individual (larvae). The next columns include the duration of each successive larval stage (ZI, ZII, ZIII, ZIV, M) and the size and weight of the resulting juvenile (C1). Lacking data are those of dead or lost larvae and some individuals with extremely long intermolt periods considered abnormal are indicated and were excluded from analysis.
