This article analyses the way in which the transformations occurred in the archaeologist field in respect of the treatment of the hunting and gathering societies that have inhabited the southeast of the Pampas are shown in scholastic texts. The result of the analysis of the contents of Bs As´s books between 1980 and 1990 are presented here in order to identify changes in the images created and perpetuated by the educational system. It is proposed that between 1990 and 1999, explanatory outlines (slightly modified) pretended to be new and reformulated concepts, but in fact they continued behaving as in the previus decade. In other words, while the cultural paradigm followed the definition of the Native American cultures emphasizing the description of the cultural features, nowadays it is proposed the description of the Native American world’s diversity throughout the identification of two different societies: the agricultural communities and the hunting and gathering communities.
