Urban forest reserves play a vital role in maintaining the health and sustainability of urban environments. These verdant spaces not only serve as crucial habitats for local biodiversity but also yield numerous benefits that enhance the quality of life for city residents. A prime example of this is the Peralta Ramos Forest, the most significant forest reserve in the city of Mar del Plata. To assess the evolution of vegetation within the Peralta Ramos Forest over recent years, Google Earth Engine platform was used for monitoring the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) by analyzing 77 images and creating a video representation of this indicator. The findings reveal that the NDVI remained remarkably stable during the period from 2014 to 2024. This consistency underscores the dedication of both the municipal government, through its forest conservation ordinance, and the local residents for preserving their natural surroundings.
