The following article seeks to take one -of the many and complex- points which analyzes the idea of colonialist of power in order to discuss its explanatory scope in structural terms and in terms of historical specificity; inquiring about the possibility to analyze and problematize differences within colonialist, and ultimately the productivity of this idea / theory for the specificity of the discussion of contemporary capitalism. I propose to do this through the division of labor into two parts: the first where theoretical and conceptual aspects are examined in the proposed of Anibal Quijano, analyzing it and through it from questions with the aim of comparing what criticism allows us to build and what enables and invites us to think, discuss and examine the perspective of historicalstructural heterogeneity. In addition, a second part where I try to put that historical perspective in dialogue with the current problems of postcolonial capitalism in the perspective of Dipesh Chakrabarty and Sandro Mezzadra.
