Preliminary results of a two-year research project (CICITCA-UNSJ: 2006-2007) which main objective is to determine the correlations between the Urban Heat Island with the Land Occupation Factor (FOS ) and the Volume Density (DV), as a contribution to the bioclimatic urban planning, are exposed. The statistic corresponds to year 2006 registered by the research unit, through a fixed meteorological station as well as by moving climatic measurements over the whole urban metropolitan area of San Juan. The preliminary results, demonstrates the direct influence of the building occupation on the urban difference of temperature, which extends beyond the limits of the urban area, both for winter and summer, resulting an increase of the urban Heat Island when the two urban index increase.
