As part of capitalist development, big cities have become huge producers of capital and cultural value. In these environments, some people found the possibilities to develop "dreams" which they felt unable to perform at their places of origin. Which are the roles of music and visual arts in these processes of living a (real) life and living life to the city? How do sounds and images -produced with digital technologies- participate in the cultural dynamics of capitalism? To answer these questions the dance clubs and the practice of DJs and VJs, as artists whose work is fundamental in the construction of the experience of the dance floor, are analyzed here. Starting at the club, the paper describes the formation of art worlds related with digital technologies, produced and consumed by young men and women who attend to university in Córdoba, a LatinAmerican city, during the first decade of the 21st century.
