Resumen

The so-called Beatriz mine is located 15 km from Ushuaia and it was the first recognized polymetallic massive sulfide in Tierra del Fuego. The ore consists of a lens-shaped sulfide body with sedimentary and metamorphic textures, composed by chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena and pyrite, and minor pyrrhotite, cobaltite, arsenopyrite, marcasite, magnetite and tetrahedrite. The lens is hosted in a volcano-sedimentary sequence of Jurassic age.
