El tiempo en suspensión: Aspectos teológico-filosóficos de la idea de שבת Shabat

Abstract

El artículo analiza el שבת Shabat a partir de los planteamientos de varios pensadores como Abraham Joshua Heschel, Hermann Cohen, Erich Fromm, Giorgio Agamben, Byung-Chul Han, entre otros. La tesis que sostiene el texto es que el tratamiento de la idea del שבת Shabat permite realizar una crítica al modo en que la modernidad técnica concibe categorías esenciales de la existencia humana como el trabajo, el descanso, el espacio y el tiempo. Asimismo, esta crítica abre la posibilidad de reflexionar acerca de la condición humana en la modernidad y de pensar otros modos de relacionarnos con las categorías mencionadas.The article analyzes the שבת Shabbat from the approaches of several thinkers such as Abraham Joshua Heschel, Hermann Cohen, Erich Fromm, Giorgio Agamben, Byung-Chul Han, among others. The thesis of the text is that the treatment of the idea of שבת Shabbat allows a critique of the way in which technical modernity conceives essential categories of human existence such as work, rest, space and time. Likewise, this critique opens up the possibility of reflecting on the human condition in modernity and thinking other ways of relating to the aforementioned categories.
