The purpose of the article is to expose the relationship between alienation and social acceleration in the current phase of capitalism, taking as reference some of the ideas presented by Jean-Paul Sartre in the Critique of Dialectical Reason. In this sense, we consider that the thought that the French philosopher displays in the 1960 work can provide a perspective that enriches and deepens nodal problems of contemporary critical thought. The question of alienation and social acceleration is one of the axes of reflection on capitalism at the beginning of the third millennium. Sartre’s dialectic and the way of approaching the relationship between the determination of the material world through free praxis and the determination suffered by men from the domain of the practical-inert are presented as possibilities for understanding our era. At the same time, the question surrounding the insurrection can be read as the way of reappropriation of temporality and spatiality in an era marked by dehumanization.
