We share some reflections on the workshop device based on our experiences from Popular Education in different areas, within the field of Natural Sciences, Environment and Health Education. In this paper we propose what we understand by workshop and which are its moments, hoping to contribute with an input to go through teacher training processes. For this purpose, we used the methodology of Content Analysis using the planning of nine of our workshops considering three aspects together: strategies used, intentionalities and knowledge/experiences put into play. From this we identified seven types of moments: Interpellations, Elaborations with knowledge/lives of the trainees, Elaborations with knowledge/ lives of the trainees and the coordination, Conceptualizations, Activities in which we put the body, Interventions and Evaluations. From the analysis it is also clear that the workshops with a Popular Education perspective are the result of a process that takes place in the explicit encounter of the paths and the here and now of those who participate, both in their planning and in their implementation. This contextualized and experiential nature makes their planning similar to the making of handicrafts.
