Sobre la presencia de turberas en la laguna del Iberá (Corrientes, Argentina)

Abstract

En este trabajo se reporta la presencia de turbales en la laguna del Iberá(NE de Argentina, Corrientes9 bajo un clima subtropical. Se describe una turbera localizada en su extremo NW, confirmando que las tuberas no sólo están limitadas a zonas frias, sino que también están presentes en el subtrópico, cumpliendo un rol muy importante debido a su capacidad para absorber agua.On the presence of Peatlands in the Ibera lagoon (Corrientes, Argentina). In this paper, we report the presence of peatlands in the Ibera lagoon (Corrientes, northeastern Argentina) under a subtropical climate. We describe a bog located in its northwestern extreme confirming that peatlands are not only limited to cold areas, but are also present in the subtropics, performing a very important role because of its ability to absorb water.
