This paper presents an analytical reading of some photographs corresponding to the performance installation Red Shoes by Elina Chauvet, where she denounces gender violence, particularly the feminicides that have took place in Mexico during recent years. To achieve this, we try to get a grasp of three photographs that capture different moments of the artist‟s work: the first two correspond to the performance carried out in Ciudad Juárez, in 2009; the third, which took place in the Mexico City‟s main square, in 2020. The purpose is to put these images in dialogue with the information collected on the work, say, with the symbolic elements that compose it as well as the historical context in which it arises.
