The aim of this study is to compare a 9 years old dyslexic child´s performance with two control groups, a chronological age-matched group and a reading level-matched group. All the subjects were assessed with three phonological awareness tasks and a standardized word and non word reading task (Defior Citoler et al., 2006). The phonological awareness tasks where designed for another research and they tests syllabic, intrasyllabic and phonological levels. Accuracy and performance time were measure for the four tasks. Results shows that in all the phonological tasks assed the dyslexic child performed in accuracy as the chronological age-matched group, but in performance time was two standard deviations above this group. On the word and no word reading task, the dyslexic child has an accuracy performance matched with the reading level-matched control group, but the time performance was again two standard deviations above this group. The results of this case study are consistent with other researches carried out in other transparent languages (e.g. Brizzolara et al., 2006; Tressoldi et al., 2001; Wimmer , 1993; Wimmer & Mayringer, 2001; Holopainen et al., 2001; Müller & Brady, 2001; Jiménez González & Hernández-Valle, 2000; Serrano & Defior, 2008).
