The study of cracked fibre reinforced concrete represents key points of interests considering that the size of the fissures as well as their stability along the time, constitute important aspects to value the durability of this high performance material. This work studies the residual behaviour of a concrete reinforced with 60kg/m³ofhooked-end steel fibres. The mechanical properties under long term loads on fissured beams with crack widths between 0.2 and 3.5 mm are analyzed; besides sustained loads the effect of loading - unloading events is discussed. On the other hand, to evaluate the transport properties water permeability and capillary sorption tests were made; slices of 150 mm of edge and 60 mm of thickness to which fissures of diverse width were caused by means of splitting loads. Among the conclusions, the stability conditions under long term loads for a fibre reinforced concrete with hardening type postcracking behaviour are indicated. It is also shown that the transport properties are affected in different form by the fissure width, while the permeability coefficient significantly increases for cracks widths higher than 0.1 mm, the parameters of capillary sorption only show a clear tendency for fissures of small thickness.
