The work is framed in the growing need at the national level to consider the existing housing demands in popular sectors, through the search for available and accessible construction solutions that guarantee thermal comfort to the sectors that can least afford the energy costs for air conditioning. The possibilities of socioeconomic access to non-traditional construction technologies in the area of Mendoza are analyzed (through interviews with companies), as well as the interior thermal performance and energy consumption for heating (through dynamic simulation with EnergyPus). Two prefabricated vertical envelope systems applied in a social housing are evaluated, in contrast to the traditional system. The results show that the evaluated systems present advantages with respect to the ease of assembly and execution on site and the ability to make the components of these systems independent. However, the prefabricated systems commercialized in Mendoza continue to be difficult to access economically for families with low incomes. Regarding the interior thermo-energetic performance of the house under study, better results are observed in the case of prefabricated systems, with which the adaptation of these solutions to popular habitat areas is considered possible and appropriate.
