Argentina ante la disputa global entre los Estados Unidos y China

Abstract

Llegando al final del primer cuarto del actu-al siglo, crecen las tensiones entre los EstadosUnidos y China, producto de la reconfigura-ción del orden geopolítico que se había esta-blecido al inicio de la posguerra fría. El de-clive relativo de Washington y el ascenso dePekín se manifiestan en todos los órdenes.Argentina, que históricamente estuvo en laórbita estadounidense, aunque con un víncu-lo bilateral en muchas ocasiones tenso, vieneincrementando sus relaciones económicas,políticas y culturales con el gigante asiático, locual genera no pocas rispideces con los Esta-dos Unidos. En el presente artículo de investi-gación se analizan las distintas dimensiones decómo se manifiesta en la Argentina esa disputade orden global y a la vez qué posibilidades seabren para el despliegue de su política exterior.Partiendo de entender cómo se configuró estenuevo triángulo, con similitudes, pero a la vezdiferencias respecto a los que el país protag-onizó en el siglo XX con otras potencias, seanalizan los principales rasgos de esta disputa,las opciones que se le abren a la Argentina ylos distintos posicionamientos en cuanto alcarácter de estos vínculos.Reaching the end of the first quarter of the current century, the tensions between the United States and China are growing, due to the reconfiguration of the geopolitical order that had been established at the beginning of the post-Cold War. The relative decline of Washington and the rise of Beijing are manifested at all levels. Argentina, which historically was in the orbit of the United States, has been incre-asing its economic, political and cultural relations with the Asian giant, which generates many disagreements with the United States. This article analyzes the different dimensions of how this global dispute manifests itself in Argentina, and at the same time what possibilities open up for the deployment of its foreign policy. Starting from understanding how this new triangle was configured, with similarities, but at the same time differences with respect to those that the country participated in in the 20th century with other powers, we analyze the nature of this dispute, the options open to Argentina and the different positions regarding the nature of these links.
