On the Analysis of Heterogeneous Fluids with Jumps in the Viscosity using a Discontinuous Pressure Field

Abstract

Heterogeneous incompressible fluid flows withjumps in the viscous properties are solved with the particlefinite element method using continuous and discontinuouspressure fields. We show the importance of using discontin-uous pressure fields to avoid errors in the incompressibilitycondition near the interface.
