Near the locality of Oyola (Dpto. El Alto) there are several caves with rock art. The diversity of motives, colors, spatial arrangements and cases of overlap allows us to assume the existence of a process, may be long, of transformations and additions, of negotiations between what was and what wanted done. To approach an understanding of this phenomenon is necessary to reconstruct the historical process of construction of the rupestrian space, not only to give a diachronic dimension to the pictographs but also to look into the different logics that were associated in making them. In this work, we show the evidence available to advance in the understanding of these processes through the study of the superimposed paints and the arrangement and interrelationships between motives and their environment, and point out future research lines for future investigations.
