In the present article, through research results in everyday school life, we problematize the conditions in which (a)normality occurs in schools located in urban poverty contexts of the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires. At first, we attended the theoretical considerations of Georges Canguilhem and Michel Foucault regarding the ways in which the (a)normality was conceived in the 19th century. In a second moment, post-structuralist criticisms that have been aimed at the ways in which the (a)normality in contemporary societies is presented are addressed. From this theoretical - methodological hinge we present scenes of school life to account for the modulations that assume the abnormality in schools marked by urban poverty. Likewise, we propose the importance of constructing new hypotheses that could think of (a)normality in school today.
