In this article I propose, considering the territorial transformations, the current uses of pilagá territory, particularly in the pilagá Qom Pi community, located in the center of the Formosa province, Argentina. In order to account the different levels of violence involved in this case, first, I present the location and conformation of Qom Pi. Secondly, I describe the territorial uses of this community in a double register: with reference to other communities and urban centers; as well as around the community. Finally, I analyze the impact of the privatization of public lands in the late 1970, that closed the access to a part of the pilagá territory and generated violent actions to prohibit the aboriginal access to their own territory, the fear of suffering those violent actions and active pilagá strategies to evade them.
